Canary bean
Phaseolus Vulgaris is the best known species of the Phaseolus gender in the Fabaceae family. Its seeds, and by extension the plant itself, receive in the Spanish-speaking world different names according to the country or region, but the most common are: beans, peas.
Beans are an annual species native to Mesoamerica (Mexico), and their numerous varieties are grown worldwide for consumption, both of their green pods and of their fresh or dried seeds.
